These terms
Trunkville (trunkville.com) is operated by Trunkville LLC (“Trunkville”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply to the website, the public API, the MCP server at /api/mcp, our feeds and our emails (together, the “service”). By using the service — yourself or through software or an AI assistant acting for you — you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
What Trunkville is
Trunkville is a directory. It lists bespoke makers and the trunk shows and ateliers where they see clients, and it lets you ask a maker for an appointment or send them a message. Trunkville does not make, sell or deliver anything, does not take payment for makers’ work, and is not a party to any agreement between you and a maker. Prices, deposits, fittings, delivery, alterations, refunds and everything else about a commission are agreed directly between you and the maker, and the maker alone is responsible for their work. Using the directory and sending requests is free.
Appointments are requests, never bookings
Makers confirm every appointment personally. Sending a request — on the site, through the API or through an AI assistant — does not book anything. A request may hold one of the maker’s open times for up to 72 hours while they decide; the maker can accept, ask a question, suggest another time or decline, and a request that gets no answer expires. An appointment exists only once the maker has accepted it, and we email you when that happens. Makers can change or cancel appointments, and we cannot guarantee that any maker will respond, accept or keep an appointment.
Send only genuine requests, with accurate contact details that belong to you or to the person you are acting for. A client may have at most three open requests with the same maker at a time.
Listings and accuracy
Listings are compiled from information makers send us and from makers’ own public websites, social media and announcements. Dates, venues, prices and services change, and we cannot promise that every listing is complete, current or correct. Starting prices are the maker’s indication, not a quote. Check important details with the maker before you travel or commit. A listing is not an endorsement, and we do not verify makers’ qualifications or work.
For makers
Listing on Trunkville is free. If you are a maker, you are responsible for the accuracy of what you add or send us, and you confirm you have the right to share it, including photos. You allow us to publish, format and distribute your listing, photos and trunk shows on the site, in our feeds, API, MCP server, newsletter and social media, and to let search engines and AI assistants read and cite them. We may edit listings for accuracy, consistency or length, and we may decline, hide or remove any listing.
You can ask us at any time to correct, update or remove your listing by writing to christian@trunkville.com. Client details you receive through Trunkville may be used only to answer and serve that client and must be handled lawfully; do not add them to marketing lists without their consent.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- send spam, fake or duplicate requests, or requests in someone else’s name without their permission;
- harass, threaten or deceive makers, clients or us;
- use the service to break the law or to infringe anyone’s rights;
- try to get around limits, gain unauthorized access, interfere with the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our permission;
- copy the directory in bulk to build a competing directory or database, or resell it, without our written permission.
Automated access, the API and the MCP server
We welcome search engines, AI assistants and other software, and publish llms.txt, an API description, feeds and an MCP server for them. You may use them to find makers and trunk shows, answer questions about them with a link back to Trunkville or the maker, and send requests and messages a person has asked for. When you do:
- identify your assistant in the request (the
agent.namefield) — makers see it; - send a request or message only with the approval of the person it is for;
- never describe a request as a booking or a confirmed appointment until the maker has accepted it (the request’s status says
accepted); - keep your traffic reasonable, follow our robots.txt, and respect the limits we apply, including the three-open-requests limit (answered with HTTP 429).
We may slow, limit or block any automated access that is excessive or harmful, or that breaks these terms, and we may change or discontinue the API and MCP server.
Your content and ours
You keep the rights to what you send us, such as messages and reviews. You allow us to store, display and transmit it as needed to run the service — for example, to deliver your message to a maker or to show a review you posted. The Trunkville name, design, editorial content and the compilation of the directory belong to Trunkville or its licensors. Makers’ names, logos and photos belong to them.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Trunkville is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, travel costs or lost opportunities, and is not responsible for makers’ work, conduct, prices or appointments, or for what happens between you and a maker. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
If you use the service in breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of claims that result against Trunkville.
Suspension and changes
We may suspend or end access to the service, or remove content, if these terms are broken or to protect makers, clients or the service. We may change the service at any time. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Trunkville LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in its courts. Before starting any formal dispute, please write to christian@trunkville.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms are the whole agreement between you and Trunkville about the service.
