Roland Schmidt Maßschneiderei

Roland Schmidt Maßschneiderei is a bespoke and made-to-measure atelier on the Freßgass in central Frankfurt. Roland Schmidt learnt tailoring in Hermannstadt (Sibiu), Transylvania, worked for outfitters in Giessen and ran the Frankfurt branch of a made-to-measure specialist for nine years, until 2018, before opening his own atelier; his team includes the master tailor Leonard Bode. Bespoke suits are cut from a hand-drafted personal pattern and sewn by hand in Frankfurt, with at least 80 hours of work each. Made-to-measure suits are full canvas, made by partners in Romania, Portugal or Italy and fitted in the atelier, from about €1,500. The house style joins English elegance with Neapolitan lightness, and it also makes coats, shirts, trousers, jeans, chinos and knitwear to measure, and women's made-to-measure. Open Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00; home or office visits on request.
