Josef Selway Bootmaker

Josef Selway is a bespoke shoe and boot maker in Brisbane who left a decade-long career in geology for the last and the awl, turning to shoemaking full time in 2016 after training with shoe, last and pattern makers in the UK and master boot makers in Japan. Every pair is fully bespoke: a personal last carved from measurements, trial fittings, then hand lasting, hand welting and hand-stitched outsoles over oak-bark-tanned leather, with bespoke shoe trees included. Delivery runs eight to twelve months. A Churchill Fellow (2022), he tours Australia with Yokohama bootmaker T. Shirakashi for joint trunk shows.
