Hark Weber Handmade Shoes
St Paul, MN·Shoes, Boots
About
Hark Weber Handmade Shoes is the one-woman workshop of Amara Hark-Weber in St Paul, Minnesota. She took up shoemaking while studying for an MFA in graphic design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, then trained with the shoe and boot makers D.W. Frommer, Janne Melkersson and Marcell Mrsan. She has made shoes and boots full time for more than 13 years, alone: every part of each pair is made by hand from full-grain leather, with nothing outsourced, and no two pairs are the same. An order begins with a fitting and design consultation; the wait from fitting to finished footwear is 8–16 months, and the average price is about $2,500. She received the 2017 Rare Craft Award and a Jerome Fellowship, and in 2026 an L-AIR residency in Himeji, Japan. Get in touch through the contact form on her website.
