Kirin Tailors

Kirin Tailors is the house of Takuya Erikaku — “respecting the old-good-days tailoring, and yet creating new style with our own craftsmanship” — one of the leading Japanese tailors of his generation, cutting under his own name since 2014 from THE KIRINTAILORS SHOP in Jiyugaoka and, since 2019, a second base in Shanghai. The work runs from pattern-order suits to full bespoke sewn almost entirely by hand, for men and women, with delivery on bespoke commissions around a year. Twice a year the house holds a trunk show at Dresswell in Kitakyushu — unusually, with a professional vacuum pressing table and steam iron installed on site, so basted fittings and deliveries leave the venue finished to atelier standard.
