goen is Erina Shibata's order-made knitwear label, founded in 2020 after she left a career designing volume clothing for a major apparel company and spent a year in Australia learning to live in step with the land. Every piece is knitted by hand to order — sweaters, cardigans, vests and children's knits — in 100% organic cotton or non-mulesed wool, dyed by Shibata herself with plant dyes or fermented sukumo indigo, and finished with shell buttons and cotton labels so that it can one day return to the soil. Base models are adjusted to the wearer (neckline, length, body); delivery takes about one to two months, and knits start around ¥32,780. Pieces that are outgrown or have faded can be unravelled and reknitted, or redyed.
