Founded by George Cleverley, who established G.J. Cleverley on Cork Street, Mayfair in 1958 after 38 years with the distinguished Austro-Hungarian shoemaker Nikolaus Tuczek. Famous for the signature chisel-toed "Cleverley shape," the house has shod clients including Winston Churchill and is today led by George Glasgow Jr. in the Royal Arcade.
