About
BLUE SHEARS is the bespoke house of cutter Hiroshi Kubota, who left Tokyo for England at eighteen, learned tailoring and cutting at Gieves & Hawkes from 1994, returned as head cutter of Gieves & Hawkes Japan in 1999, and founded BLUE SHEARS in 2005. He cuts suits, coats and dinner jackets in the English manner at 1-14-2 Seta, Setagaya-ku, by appointment only, and has trained a generation of Japanese cutters at the BLUE SHEARS Academy in Shibuya since 2010.
