About
Bench Made is the Tokyo workshop of Yukiko Okawa, who trained for years as a craftsman at John Lobb in England and has made English-style bespoke shoes under her own name since 2006. Shoes are built to be worn for thirty years; a first pair takes a trial fitting and three and a half to six months. The workshop is at Daiichi Sumino Building 508, 6-5-25 Seijo, Setagaya-ku, a minute from Seijo-Gakuen-mae station, by appointment.
